FROM OUR PRESIDENT: |
NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT: Another Warm Up Picnic has come and gone. I want to thank everyone for their help. It takes so many people to pull this off. A special thanks to Lonnie Bonnes for chairing the event, Barbara Barr for getting the workshop leaders lined up, Lois Liggett for setting up the registration table, Steve Madorin for the delicious smoked meats, and Larry McDoniel for providing his sound equipment and his expertise in operating it. Also a special thanks to all who helped with obtaining donations, setting up, tearing down and cleaning up. We had another successful picnic with an unusual ending with Chuck Daniels winning the autoharp and auctioning it off and donating half the money back to the club. Thanks to Tom Bogardes for being the auctioneer, he did an excellent job. We are getting ready to leave for Bennington, OK for the Sawdust Festival. Several of our club members have told me they are going also. This festival offers a lot of workshops put on by excellent leaders. Looking forward to the club meeting October 8th. Coffee & donuts at 9:00. Cow Bell at 9:30. Nominating committee will present names to be voted on in November for club officers. See you at the meeting Prez. Joe

VICE PRESIDENTIAL CORNER: |
A FEW WORDS FROM OUR VP: Greetings once again. I hope that everyone is well and rested from the gathering in Winfield. I want to thank each of you that helped out with the warm-up picnic. I know that it was a lot time consuming work up front getting things gathered and organized. Your work was greatly appreciated the day of the workshops by all that attended. I also want to thank everyone that helped on Saturday. Everyone pitching in sure made for a pleasant time. I thought that we had good workshop leaders this year and heard many positive comments from the participants. Congratulations and thanks again to all.
As far as workshops go... Did you learn any new tunes at Winfield? If so, while it is still fresh in your mind, I invite you to share it with your fellow Club members. Perhaps you learned a new pattern, or the light came on and a passage you had been working on suddenly fell into place. Bring it and share.
I hope all is well with everyone and that you are able to attend Saturday, the 8th!
Peace be with you. Your Veep (Chuck)
