July 2006

FROM OUR PRESIDENT:

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.  Because of the
holiday, and the 1st being on Sat., the club meeting is really sneaking
up on me. I want to thank everyone that has turned out to play for the Girl
Scouts at Cowtown. Next play dates are July 13th & 27th.  Come out and
join the fun. I still need a volunteer to chair the food table at the warm-up
picnic, don't be shy!! Looks to be several jams going on soon, so get out and enjoy the music. Join us for the "Happy 1/2 Hour" 9 a.m. Sat. July 8th, general
meeting will start at 9:30 . See ya there.

Prez Joe

VICE PRESIDENTIAL CORNER:

A FEW WORDS FROM OUR VP:

Greetings once again,
I hope everyone had a safe and cool  fourth of July.  It is hard to
believe that Summer is in full swing and Winfield is less than 70 days
away.  That means only two more meetings till our Warm-up Picnic.
There is a lot of work to be done so be thinking of how you can assist
the different members that have graciously volunteered to chair the different committees.

With the July Fourth holiday and all of the activities that the summer
brings I have not had a chance to track down a specific workshop
leader, so at this time I am looking for someone to step forward and
offer to lead a group lesson.  We will also have an open jam room.  I
want to encourage anyone learning a new instrument to let me know so
that I can make sure a member with experience is available to work with
you.  Please don't hesitate, this is what the Club is for.  My e-mail
address is: ccarr@mvpcorp.com .

Has anyone been to the new secondhand music store just one block east
of Douglas and Washington?  I have been trying to walk over there just
to take a look around but have not made it yet.  With Cerios Chocolate
right next door, I don't know what is taking me so long!

Remember all of the playing opportunities throughout the week: Sunday
afternoons at Cowtown (no costume required), Monday nights at Java
Nation, Tuesdays in Derby and of course our own Club meetings.  If you
know of anything else, please keep everyone informed.

Hope to see everyone this Saturday at the meeting, bring a friend,
bring a tune.

Till then, play well and have some fun.

Chuck

     God Bless.
